New Dr Martens Shoes

Dr Martens: AirWair

Dr Martens has had a bit of a face lift, though has it had a change of heart?

Dr Martens renowned and actually awarded for its connection to youth sub cultures has had a little bit of a change. The brand famous for it hard industrial roots are now making simple fashion designed footwear and surprisingly mainly shoes. Not boots.

Although still holding fast to it heritage, as it rightly should, the brand has started creating a more refined less industrial style of product.  Perhaps some of the die-hard fans are grinding their teeth here but seemingly Dr Martens have still managed to maintain their signature of durability, even in these more subtle designs.

So as far as I can tell they have made similar things to other already popular fashion brands but made them harder wearing.

Errhhmm good.

Finally some good looking shoes that are not to be kept in a box and are only to be brought out on a special occasion with the fear that if you do a bit will fall off. So Dr Martens have officially got my attention, as a fan of the brand already having had the same pair of beaten up old 1460s since school.  I feel this face lift maybe the right time for me to look at a pair of Dr Martens again.

My personal favourites are the new “Eclectic Soho”, especially the effectively titled “Black Ninja” they are basically a 3 eye GYM sneaker but made by Dr Martens, so no longer shall I have to stand for the soles of my shoes breaking and allowing copious amount of beer into my socks at the next gig I attend.

Thank you Dr Martens you made me a very happy man again.

As you may have guessed I don’t feel they have had a change of heart, as with everything the times are a changing and they have adapted and I feel. Well.
